And he concedes: “You have to fit the squad balance that is to have a little mixture of everything.
“First of all, what type of personality are you signing? Does that fit with your club culture?
“After, quality-wise, what do you need? Physicality, technical ability, specificity for certain positions. Squad player, what do you need?
“You identify that, in terms of the year that they are on.
“Are they in development phase, are they in twilight phase, are they in the big phase? What do you need? And from then on, you start to make the right decisions.
“Some of them are tough to take, some of them people won't understand, but when you have a clear plan then that works."
