Newcastle United players have held talks with owner Mike Ashley over his plans to sell up.
Skipper Jamaal Lascelles is believed to have spoken to the Sports Direct tycoon on behalf of the squad, says the Mirror.
The club is in limbo which boss Steve Bruce says is “unhealthy."
Ashley's position is that he wants to sell up, an agreement is signed with broker Amanda Staveley, and he is now powerless in the process and waiting for the Premier League to rule on the Saudi funded deal.
Bruce has admitted he wants a verdict on the deal, either way, soon.
The Premier League has spent 13 weeks deliberating over whether the state-owned Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia are suitable owners.
