Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand joked that it may be time to take a break from Twitter.

The ex-Red Devils defender praised Liverpool for winning their first league title in the past 30 years.

Ferdinand tweeted: "Congrats @LFC... Premier League Champions.

"28 wins out of 31 games....nothing but praise for you! Thoroughly deserved.... Relentless appetite....especially losing it last season after being so good. Mentally tough!".

The Reds sealed their 19th title, moving one behind United who have 20.

And after congratulating the Reds, Ferdinand joked "Brb @Twitter… see you in a couple weeks!"

Another United legend, Gary Neville, simply tweeted a waving-goodbye emoji to suggest he may take some time off the platform as well!
