Former Inter Milan and Napoli defender Giovanni Bia has sympathy for Gianluca Petrachi after he was suspended by AS Roma.

Roma announced yesterday that sporting director Petrachi had been suspended from his role. It's claimed he had fallen out with president James Pallotta and members of the board.

Bia, now a sports lawyer, told TMW: "In football the show is done by the fans, and yesterday it was an almost embarrassing, really bad show. At this moment the games, especially these first ones, are atypical: very high concentration and low rhythm, they are very tactical games and ugly, it was seen last night between Napoli and Juve, they had shot three or four times on goal.

"Petrachi's suspension? Sorry, even in Torino it hadn't gone well. He is an excellent professional and certain things happen when you say what you think, sometimes it would be better to cut your tongue. Unfortunately football is run by people who have nothing to do with football. We have administrators, no more than presidents, and I don't know if they are capable."
