Chelsea have entered talks with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.
The Daily Express says Chelsea are in talks to sign Havertz but there is still plenty of work to do for the deal to happen. The German international has been a shining light since the return of the Bundesliga with a host of European giants now flocking for his signature.
The Blues appear to be at the front of the queue given their strong desire to land the attacking midfielder this summer.
Both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keen to wait a year before moving for the 21-year-old.
However, Chelsea have cash to spend and Frank Lampard is out to make amends in the transfer market.
He was left frustrated in January after moves for Dries Mertens and Edinson Cavani failed.
