Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is urging Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay after their stunning FA Cup semifinal win over Manchester City.
Arsenal beat City 2-0 at Wembley on Saturday, with Aubameyang scoring in either half to seal an unlikely win.
Aubameyang wants to be assured Arsenal can challenge for honours before signing a new deal and, asked if beating City may help persuade the Gabon international to stay, Arteta told the BBC: “Hopefully it will help him to be more convinced we are going in the right direction.
“As I told you, the way I look at him when I speak with him, he sounds pretty convinced. But obviously if he can see that success and the direction we are taking is the right one, I think he will be more positive about it yes."
