Nigel Pearson is set for a hefty payout by Watford after his sacking - if they stay up.
Pearson's dismissal followed an explosive row with Watford owner Gino Pozzo - who has sacked 10 managers in six years.
Pearson admitted he was disappointed to be denied the chance to "finish the task I was brought in to achieve", with U23s coach Hayden Mullins and goalkeeping coach Graham Stack set to take charge of the monumental clash with the Gunners.
The Englishman wished his old squad well for their remaining matches but now also has a financial incentive to do so.
Sky Sports eports Pearson's £1m survival bonus is not dependant on him being employed at the club.
