The agent of Arsenal centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos has rubbished claims he's been told to find himself a new club.

The player's agent Konstantinos Farras has branded the speculation as "fake news".

Papastathopoulos has entered the final year of his contract, which expires in June 2021.

And he's been linked with Stuttgart who, having secured promotion from Germany's second-tier to the Bundesliga, are on the look-out for defensive additions.

Arsenal's former head of recruitment Sven Mislintat was appointed Stuttgart's sporting director in April 2019 and is responsible for bringing Sokratis to the Premier League.

But Sokratis' agent Farras has dismissed any possibility of a departure.

"Sokratis will stay. I don't see a reason to leave. I don't know why everyone is writing wrong and fake news," he told journalist Fred Paxton.
