Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes the champions should be active in the summer market.
Souness does not expect the Reds to spend much money on their squad this summer, even though he thinks it would be the ideal time to invest.
“Any team that's been winning the title, the best time to invest is when you are at the top of the tree because you are not buying under pressure," he said. "You can introduce them slowly, get them to understand what the club is about and the way you want to play,
"In this current team you have Andy Robertson and Fabinho, who came to the club and did not go straight into the starting XI. So it's always best buying when you are at strength.
"I would like to see them invest a wee bit but the noises are that they aren't going to. So they must have some fantastic kids coming through for them not to want to spend money, because every manager wants to spend money."
