Manchester City have received a boost in their hopes of signing David Alaba this summer.
The English Premier League side want to add defensive reinforcements to mount another title challenge under Pep Guardiola.
Bild says Alaba and Bayern are at a standstill on contract talks.
The 28-year-old has wage demands that Bayern deem too high.
If there is no agreement, City could pounce with a high bid to entice Bayern into a summer sale.
Alaba reportedly wants £18 million a year.
He has worked with Guardiola at Bayern, which would make City's interest appealing to him.
