Chris Hughton is interested in the vacant Watford job.
The 61-year-old remains on the shortlist to replace Lee Johnson at Bristol City.
But the former Brighton boss is keeping his options open, with the Hertfordshire Mercury claiming Hughton would be open to join Watford.
The Hornets sacked manager Nigel Pearson with two games remaining.
Hughton has experience helping teams get promoted to the Premier League, having done so with Albion and Newcastle United.
