Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes turning doubters into believers is the reason why Liverpool are champions.

Klopp uttered the phrase upon his unveiling as Liverpool manager back in October 2015.

Now the Premier League title has arrived, Klopp has admitted turning fans from being skeptical into believing in the success was a huge reason for them getting over the line.

"We did that all together from the first day," Klopp told reporters.

"It is a little bit unfair, if I would have left the club for whatever reason after last season, I think we would have done a really good job until then, but nobody would ever really recognise it.

"They would have spoken about the 97 points and it was close and all that stuff and these kinds of things. That is how life is.

"I was not the world's worst manager the year before but the team was now ready and I was, for all the things we learned about each other.

"This doubters to believers thing...I had absolutely no idea where that came from in my mind. But that it was essential that the people had to go from supporters to supportive.

"That was obvious now I have to say, but I only said it about the people because they had to be ready for it and they had to be clear we don't want to live in the past.

"We didn't want to be angry or disappointed about the signings or performances. I had to remind people how important it was to put in a proper performance on the pitch and off the pitch, it was essential.

"I knew that as I came from a very emotional club (in Dortmund) - well two, actually (Mainz) - so that was pretty much common sense.

"How we did it, a lot of good decisions on and off the pitch, a lot of effort from the people, incredible support from the club as well and things can happen. And in the end, a dream came true. That is really special for all of us."
