Burnley boss Sean Dyche is pleading with his board to sort out the contracts of his senior players.
Dyche has at the end of this season had to wave goodbye to transfer fees for Jeff Hendrick, Aaron Lennon and Joe Hart, who all left the club for free earlier this month.
Dyche feels powerless in a situation where Burnley need reinforcements.
"It is important that we get the contracts extended. But in the end, I can do nothing. All I can do is offer the things that I find important to the club, the team and the reinforcements that I think we need," he said.
"We are ambitious about bringing in new players, but we are certainly also ambitious about our own players. We will not make excuses. We keep driving. This is how I look at it. As long as I know what our goal is, I'm happy to stay."
