Arsenal ended Watford's survival chances and secured an eighth-place finish with a 3-2 win over Watford at the Emirates.
The Gunners took an early lead when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted from the penalty spot after Alexandre Lacazette was fouled in the box.
Kieran Tierney made it 2-0 after 24 minutes with a precise left-footed finish past Ben Foster.
Aubameyang then grabbed his second before half-time with an overhead finish from close range after being allowed too much time by a sloppy Watford defence.
But the Hornets did not give up and came so very close to snatching a point or more and potentially saving their season.
First it was Troy Deeney who scored from the penalty spot and then Danny Welbeck brought his side within one thanks to a tap-in.
Welbeck almost equalised with a flick but Emiliano Martinez pulled off a miraculous save to preserve Arsenal's lead.
Hayden Mullins' side needed a win to avoid relegation and they will spend next season trying to bounce straight back into the top-flight.
Speaking after the game, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said: "It was a really tough game. The level of urgency they had is not what we had.
"After going 2-0 up you think this is going to easy but that's a big mistake because without the ball we weren't at the races. In certain aspects of the game I didn't like what I was watching. I tried to correct that."
