Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale admits the players were "devastated" after defeat to Southampton.

Ramsdale, who was man of the match at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, thought they had snatched an equaliser late on only for Sam Surridge's goal to be chalked off by VAR for offside.

He said, "We are throwing bodies forward, to concede late especially on the goal difference is tough. I guess you can expect it when we are going for the goal.

"First half we had chances, and balls dropping the box and it wasn't falling to us. I always felt like we would get one and would score. The lads are dead on their feet. The chances were there but we didn't manage to put one away.

"It's pretty hard to sum up. I've done my job trying to keep us in the game, it's a tough one to take. We have one game left. We have to look at other teams to help us out. We go to Everton full of confidence from today. Hopefully something will drop for us there."
