Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud dedicated his matchwinning goal against Norwich City to N'Golo Kante.

The Frenchman repaid the faith from manager Frank Lampard, heading home from Christian Pulisic's cross in first-half stoppage time to hand the Blues the opener.

The 33-year-old was spotted performing a strange celebration, appearing to write a note in the air in the direction of Kante.

Kante, a close friend of Giroud's having played together at both international and club level, was ruled out of the clash with a hamstring injury.

Explaining the celebration, Giroud told Sky Sports: "It's just I play Scrabble with N'Golo Kante and I aimed it at him. That's it!"
