AC Milan hero Demetrio Albertini says Stefano Pioli deserves his new deal.
Pioli has penned terms to 2022 this week.
“He has shown that he deserves the Milan job," Albertini said. “Pioli's main merit is having regrouped the team in their most delicate moment.
“When the confidence wanes in the current season, it's easy for the dressing room to fall apart in a heartbeat. The risks were high for Pioli.
“The lockdown could have ruined everything, but instead he has brought out the best. Well done.
“But the players have shown maturity too. And of course [technical director Paolo] Maldini has helped a lot."
