Brighton boss Graham Potter hopes to bring through more young players this season.
Potter has been pleased with the impact of the likes of Steven Alzate this term.
He said: “That is part of the plan.
“It has to be the right time for the individual, the right time for the team.
“We invest a lot of money in the academy here so it important we have at least an understanding of the pathway for those guys coming through there.
“At the same time, it's the balance between we are in the most competitive league in the world.
“I am well aware that results are the most important thing.
“That is what we have to focus on but, at the same time, if we can combine the two, then that's great."
