Grab is increasing the minimum amount required to top up the GrabPay e-wallet via online banking to RM50. Previously, GrabPay users could top up their e-wallets with a minimum top-up amount of RM10, before a recent change that raised it to RM20. The new change will come into effect on 31 July 2020 and was first reported by Rnggt.

According to Grab on Twitter, the move is aimed at supporting a better experience for daily usage with higher transaction values as users will need to make top-ups less frequently, thus ensuring that everyone has a faster experience when making cashless payments.

However, Grab gave assurance that the minimum top-up amount for other methods of payment such as debit cards, credit cards, and Maybank2u would remain unchanged at RM20.

Responding to some users who voiced their displeasure at the change on Twitter, Grab said that it would take their input and sentiment into account accordingly.
