Manchester United are becoming increasingly incensed by what they describe as 'bogus transfer stories'.

The Red Devils believe they are an easy target for agents to drive up prices for their players.

They have pointed to a story in the Portuguese press last week that claimed they were interested in Wolves striker Raul Jimenez.

The Daily Mail has quoted a source from United saying the rumour is 'utter nonsense'.

The source continued: "The Jimenez story making the gossip page on the BBC's website certainly did not help."

Jimenez has enjoyed an excellent campaign for Wolves, with Juventus reportedly interested in his signature.
