A £22 million bid has reportedly been made for Maghalhaes.
He could be viewed as the club's Kalidou Koulibaly replacement, who is likely to join Manchester City or Chelsea.
But the English teams could still outbid Napoli for Gabriel, as Lille would be happy to generate a bidding war for the 22-year-old.
