Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has not given up on the takeover of the club by a Saudi consortium.
Talks between the two parties broke down after the Saudis were unhappy at the Premier League taking so long to approve the deal, while it was suggested Ashley raised the asking price.
Now Sky Sports is indicating the Magpies owner wants to resume talks, and is in some communication with the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.
The English billionaire remains committed to finding a way to make the takeover happen.
There is still silence from the Premier League about whether the fund would be approved for ownership.
Some British MPs have written to the Premier League asking why there is silence on the matter, and why the takeover was not approved swiftly as others were in the past.
