Proton has announced that it is now accepting e-wallet payments at selected service centres and outlets, providing its customers with better convenience and peace of mind.

According to the car manufacturer, it has enabled several e-wallet payment options, namely Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, and FavePay. They can be used to settle your payments for various transactions, such as vehicle servicing, spare part purchases, insurance renewals, and even down payments for a new vehicle.

With most of these being relatively hefty transactions, e-wallet payment options open up more opportunities to “double dip” on rewards by using the right credit cards to reload the selected e-wallets. What’s particularly interesting is the support for FavePay – since it is not considered an “e-wallet” by Maybank and the fact that FavePay supports Amex cards, you could be earning handsome cashback and rewards with the best Amex cards such as the Maybank Amex Reserve, the Amex Platinum, or even the Maybank 2 Gold/Platinum Amex.

In its announcement, Proton did not mention which service centres and outlets currently support e-wallet payments – its website also does not have the info, so be sure to check with your preferred outlet before heading there.
