Kota Kinabalu:

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Central New Generation Movement committee Eric Hei Yuong Fu (pic) has taken the caretaker State Government to task for easing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on events organised by the government and private sectors due to their self-interest of holding political talks (ceramah) before the State election.

Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal  announced on Wednesday that government and private events, including meetings, seminars, workshops, courses, training, conferences and talks, could be held by complying with the SOPs. The total capacity of participants will be dependent on the size of the venue and physical distancing at the location.

Hei pointed out that Shafie on June 23 had announced that government and private events could be held with a capacity not exceeding 150 people for the sake of the public’s health.
