Kuala Lumpur:

The Federation of Chinese Associations (Huazong) urged the Federal Government to take a firm stand against its Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, for his provocative statement that Bersatu Youth wants vernacular schools to be phased out.

Huazong President, Tan Sri TC Goh, said he is unsettled with Wan Ahmad’s adamant and remorseless attitude of holding firm to his inflammatory remarks despite a strong rebuttal from various quarters, including politicians from both sides of the divide and educationist groups.

Furthermore, his remarks were clearly against the political ideologies and policies of the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also the President of Bersatu.
