A Sabahan as the Minister of International Trade and Industry in mid-2018–2019 it seemed had boosted the number of approved foreign and domestic manufacturing projects planned for Sabah in 2019 before the fall of PH in the first quarter of 2020.Based on Malaysia Industrial Development Authority (Mida) data and chart, in 2019 Sabah attracted RM6.46 billion comprising 75 per cent foreign direct investments with 25 per cent domestic investments for 15 manufacturing projects expected to provide 3,372 job opportunities. By comparison, in 2015, Sabah secured only RM0.35 billion while in 2016 , RM2.14 billion, 2017 (RM0.79 billion) and in 2018, RM0.23 billion.
