Mainz forward Jean-Phillipe Mateta remains on the radar of Premier League clubs.
The Sun says Palace are putting Mateta on their striker standby list.
Palace are working overtime on landing a top number nine but they are also keeping their interest in Mateta going at German club Mainz.
Mateta has had a prolific time in the Bundesliga and could be available for around £15 million.
Palace would swoop for Mateta if they lose Christian Benteke or may sign him as an extra option for Roy Hodgson's squad.
