The Schalke 04 star is wanted by several clubs this window.
And Sky Germany claim Hertha are at the forefront of the clubs to sign him.
McKennie could go for roughly €25 million. And Bild also claims the two clubs are negotiating and a deal is close.
The 21-year-old is also a target for Southampton and Wolves.
