Rangers are eager to sign Jacob Murphy from Newcastle United in this transfer window.
And the Daily Record says the Scottish giants are watching the situation of Murphy with the Premier League club.
The 24-year-old would be welcomed by manager Steven Gerrard.
He has a year left on his Newcastle contract, and was on loan at West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday the past year and a half.
Murphy is unlikely to be in manager Steve Bruce's Magpies plans, so a decent offer from Rangers should trigger a sale.
