The Ministry of Health announced eight new Covid-19 cases in Sabah and a new cluster in Semporna on Saturday. Three of the cases including a foreigner were screenings referred from Tawau Hospital to Semporna Hospital while another was a severe acute respiratory illness or Sari case at Tawau Hospital. There was one pre-surgery case at Keningau Hospital, one community screening case in Tawau and one case in the Benteng cluster.

The new cluster called the "Bakau cluster" had one new case and was started by its index patient, a Filipina who was announced as Malaysia's latest fatality on Friday.
