Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano has taken a dig at Everton over their swoop for James Rodriguez.
Valdano is a fan of the Colombia captain and upset seeing him move to Goodison Park.
He told Onda Cero: "James had a disappointing balance sheet with Real Madrid.
"It seems to me that he will not play for Everton, but for Ancelotti Football Club. I expected a lot more from him.
"He has superior qualities but he has to express them on the pitch, with continuity. In the end, players need a coach who makes them feel comfortable and that coach, for James, is Ancelotti."
