Lyon chief Juninho admits they've explored re-signing Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The France international has been linked with Juventus and Atletico Madrid this summer.
And Juninho revealed: "He is not our level when it comes to contracts. For the majority of these players ... In January, I called Alexandre Lacazette to talk to him a bit.
"He had problems at Arsenal and I said to myself: 'Why not come on a six-month loan with us where you will thrive, play all the matches and score goals that you know how to do? And then you go back to Arsenal or to someone elsewhere'."
Lacazette eventually remained with the Gunners, helping them to win the FA Cup last season.
