Wolves started the season off just right with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Raul Jimenez opened the scoring after just three minutes with a fine striker.
Only three minutes and the visitors had doubled their advantage through a Roman Saiss header.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side showed no signs of fatigue in the opening stanza, despite their 2019/20 campaign extending from July to the following August and including over 60 games.
The Blades improved in the second-half as Wolves showed they had essentially no preseason ahead of the match, but managed just two shots on goal for the match.
Speaking after the game, Nuno - who signed a three-year extension on Sunday - said he believed the club was building 'something special'.
"It has been an amazing three seasons," he said.
"I think we create something really special - the identity, the core of the squad, the bonds between us, this is how we operate but we have to stay humble.
"Now I have to prepare the next training session because we play Stoke in the League Cup. We go day by day."
