Fred has no intention of leaving Manchester United despite the imminent arrival of Donny van de Beek.

The Brazilian's future has been called into question after United agreed a £40m deal with Ajax to sign the Netherlands midfielder.

Galatasaray were last week touted as a possible landing spot for the former Shakhtar Donestk man.

But the Manchester Evening News reports that Fred has not been told he is surplus to requirements and does not intend to leave the club of his own volition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer favoured Fred over Nemanja Matic for most of the tail-end of last season, starting him in the Europa League quarter-final and semi-final.
