Mikel Arteta defended his decision to drop Mohamed Elneny for Saturday's win over West Ham United.

The Egyptian was replaced in the starting line-up by Dani Ceballos for the 2-0 victory at London Stadium.

And despite being impressed with Elneny in last weeks win over Fulham, Arteta was not ruling out signing more midfielders before the transfer window shuts.

"Mo [Elneny] he deserved to play again today but I wanted to rotate," Arteta said after the game.

It was a game that we had to attack their smaller spaces and the way they defend, to create situations with Dani in there. We are going to try and strengthen the team until the market is done."
