Tottenham are prepared to include a buy-back clause in their deal for Real Madrid fullback Sergio Reguilon.

AS says Manchester United had moved to the head of the queue to sign the 23-year-old, who also seemed keen on a move to Old Trafford.

But the club's determined efforts to sign him hit a snag when they were told that Real insisted on including a buyback clause in any deal.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane still has high hopes for Reguilon - whom he coached for the club's Castilla team and who played 22 times for Real's first-team in the 2018/19 season.

Real will be able to buy Reguilon back from Tottenham for around £37million within the first two years of his contract, something that they may be tempted to do as long-term left-back Marcelo comes towards the end of his time at the club.
