FT Deputy Minister visits church and temples in Labuan

LABUAN: The Deputy Minister of Federal Territories Dato Seri Santhara Kumar visited a church and temples here in his maiden visit to the island making him the first FT deputy minister to do so recently.

He visited the RC church, the “Pak Sin Mew” (Temple of 8 Immortals) at Kampong Sungai Keling, the Gurudwara (Sikh temple) and the Thiru Murgan temple at Membadai.

At the Gurudwara he was welcomed by its deputy chairman Balvir Singh, committee members Datuk Dahlif Singh, Surjeet Singh, Sharmukh Singh and the priest. The gurudwara built at a cost of RM2 million in 2000 was designed by an architect from Chandigarh (India).
