98 new state cases, new cluster in Selangor 'from Sabah'

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 98 new Covid-19 cases mostly in the Bangau-Bangau cluster while Selangor had a new cluster that potentially originated from Sabah on Monday, said the Ministry of Health.

The Bangau-Bangau cluster had 46 cases all Malaysians, 39 cases in the Benteng cluster including 25 locals, eight symptomatic screening cases, two locals in the Pulau cluster, one local in the Buang Sayang cluster, a health worker and a Malaysian who was a close contact of a patient.

Figures from Sabah health authorities showed in the west coast, the city recorded four new cases, Penampang three, while Putatan and Papar one each.

On a positive note, 484 out of 873 Benteng cluster cases in Lahad Datu and Tawau have been discharged, said the Ministry of Health.

Selangor's new cluster's index patients were a Malaysian couple with travel history in Tawau and Semporna and which recorded six new cases today, added the ministry.
