Liverpool and Watford legend John Barnes has questioned the Reds' move for Ismaila Sarr.
Watford winger Sarr is being linked with Liverpool.
But Barnes told Bonus Bet Codes: "I'd believe that Ismaila Sarr definitely wants to play; and I think he'd expect to be played.
"As I said before, if a player's happy to come and fight for his place and feel that yes, he can, rather than expecting a guaranteed place.
"I think that shows great character in a player.
"But I wouldn't want a player to come to Liverpool who will expect to be playing and if he doesn't, he could upset the apple cart.
"Because the harmony of the team is the most important thing.
"That's why Jurgen Klopp may be hesitant to sign huge superstar players because they definitely want to play.
"I don't know whether Sarr would be quite happy to do that."
