Municipal president José Córdova believes their star player Rodrigo Vilca is set to sign for Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old Peruvian was wanted by the Magpies all through the window.
Now he is set to sign, with less than a week to go before the deadline.
Vilca can play as a no.10 or as a deeper midfielder.
"There is already a formal proposal by Newcastle and Rodrigo Vilca will travel to England on October 1," Córdova told Peruvian radio station Voces Futbol Peru.
"He is a very important player for us, but he will play his last match this Wednesday. He has a community passport because he lived in Spain for 11 years so he will not be a foreign player for Newcastle."
