Chelsea cannot sign Brighton youngster Tariq Lamptey through a clause.
Lamptey has impressed in the Premier League in the first two games this season.
The 19-year-old was sold in January for less than five million by Chelsea.
And The Sun claims Chelsea have NO buy-back clause within the transfer that took Lamptey to Brighton.
Many fans on social media felt the Blues should activate a clause and bring the player back this window or in the next one.
But it appears there is no such option for the team.
