Cagliari director Pierluigi Carta says they're in advanced talks to sign Inter Milan veteran Diego Godin.
Inter are releasing Godin from his contract to help smooth negotiations.
"We're getting into the thick of things for the Godin talks and we're doing everything to bring him to Cagliari," director of sport Carta said in a press conference.
“If we manage it, we'll be extremely happy, because we're trying to build a strong squad with experience as well as youth.
"Godin is an important player, so naturally it's a complex negotiation."
