Kota Kinabalu:

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Kapayan candidate Datuk Yong Wui Chung (pic) expressed disappointment at the lack of federal funding to the State Government between 2018 and 2019 to address the frequent flooding in the constituency.

He said the incumbent Kapayan assemblywoman Jannie Lasimbang promised during the 2018 general election to resolve the issue of illegal houses and frequent flooding in Kepayan.

However, the incumbent Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Datuk Junz Wong, who oversaw the Department of Drainage and Irrigation (DID), claimed that the State Government was unable to implement flood mitigation measures due to the lack of federal allocation.
