Tenom:

A railway line from Melalap town to the Tenom Train Station is not a major requirement as announced by the Warisan-led government, said BN election candidate Jamawi Jaafar (pic), who is standing for Melalap.

He said this is because driving from the area to Tenom only takes 30 minutes.

“The implementation of this project is ineffective and cannot help improve the economic status of the people apart from harming and burdening the state government’s finances in terms of construction, maintenance and subsidies,” said Jamawi while campaigning at the Tamu ground, Wednesday.
