Call to include frog as election symbol

LABUAN: An Independent candidate in previous elections here, Lau Seng Kiat said the Election Commission should consider including the symbol of the frog for candidates to choose from. 

He said despite the negative connotation that the creature has earned in Sabah politics – and lately in peninsula – it is still highly regarded in Chinese folklore as it is associated with energy and prosperity.

“Frog are considered a good luck charm and this can be seen in the frog figurines in some homes and shops often biting a coin and sitting on a pile of it.
