Manchester City are launching a bid for Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez.
Fed-up with Napoli's stubborn negotiating tactics for Kalidou Koulibaly, AS says City have turned to Uruguay international Gimenez.
City have tabled a massive €89m to Atletico for Gimenez. The bid could rise to €94m in bonuses.
Atletico, however, are reluctant to negotiate and have referred City to Gimenez's €120m buyout clause.
But it's claimed this is just a tactic and that GM Miguel Angel Gil Marin is prepared to sell Gimenez if City make their bid €90m up front.
