Sources claim David Moyes is looking to sell the Brazilian to free up room in his squad.
And the Mirror reports the Gunners were given an opportunity to take Anderson on loan, along with a £5m loan fee.
Nothing has eventuated from the offer and Anderson remains in east London.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a return to former club Lazio.
