Contraband cigarettes seized in Semporna

SEMPORNA: Some 40,320 sticks of contraband cigarettes worth RM16,520 were seized by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) off Pulau Silungun, here, Tuesday.

The 6.30am seizure is the first recorded since the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) was implemented here. 

Semporna Maritime Zone Director, Commander Norrimi Hassan, said a team on “Ops Sejahtera” surveillance and patrol using a Seahawk boat spotted a man on an unregistered boat.
