Olympique Marseille coach Andre Villas-Boas has revealed how close Chelsea came to losing the race for Willian.
Willian signed for the Blues from Anzhi Makhachkala - under the nose of Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy.
The Brazilian has since left this summer for Arsenal and former Spurs boss AVB recalled to Copa90: "I don't think Daniel Levy won't appreciate it too much.
"But we had Willian in our office, watching a Champions League game together before he leaves the room and signs for Chelsea that night!"
Willian spent seven years with the Blues.
