Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson admits they were poor for their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Ben Chilwell and Kurt Zouma struck, with Jorginho also scoring twice from the spot.

Hodgson said, “Unfortunately we gifted them a goal after five minutes in the second half, and to compound that we gifted them two more goals with the two penalties.

“We were playing against a good team who were very solid defensively themselves, which wasn't easy.

“There were some poor performances out there today, that's for sure. One or two will be looking in the mirror and saying they didn't do anywhere near enough. Unfortunately these days do happen over the course of the season. You have to take it on the chin and can't allow it to have too big an effect on your confidence.

“Our confidence was quite high before the match, but the couple of mistakes we made and the fact that we were fighting back from 2-0 down fairly early in the second half meant we've ended up with a heavy defeat."
